Local legend Fletcher Crowley & Jody Mielke rode an incredible 24 hours non-stop in an endurance challenge around Narrabeen Lake to raise awareness and funds for spinal cord injuries. They covered 267km, and raised over $21,508!!
With the help of the entire community, they pushed forward, and fought through pain & stamina.
Thanks to everyone for their help and support:
🚴 Joining the ride/run for any part of the challenge
🔥 Volunteering at the BBQ to keep everyone fuelled from 2pm
💰 Donating & sharing the fundraiser link—every bit counts!
It was an epic day of endurance, community, and support that made a difference together.
From Fletch: "Six months ago @jodymielke came to me with the idea to do a fundraiser, after some brainstorming we settled with a 24 hour ride / push. A fair few training sessions later (def coulda been more 😂) and a postponed event we got it done.
Im not normally one to say im proud of myself but im pretty chuffed with this achievement. If you’d told me a year and a half ago when I was in hospital that I’d be doing something like this, I would’ve said you were dreaming. So its pretty surreal to see it all come together.
Riding for 24 hours straight pushed my body to its limits, but with the support of some absolute legends, we pulled through. Together, we raised just over $20k for the @perryxfndn and that’s something I’ll never forget.
We cant thank everyone who came down for a lap or heckle enough for bringing the vibe and energy to keep us going.
Lastly to thank @jodymielke for having the patience to ride with me for 24hrs 😅. In all seriousness, i wouldnt have done it with anyone else. The advice, shit talking, support and help jody offered was insane and im so damn grateful for it. Lots of love Jodes ❤️
