Prepare for some adrenaline-fuelled racing, the Garigal Cup events are our club Gravity championship. The cumulative point system will determine the overall winner across all races.

We’ll be dedicating a few Enduro trails just for you to race your mates. The course map will be revealed on the day.
 Push your limits in a fun, relaxed race format with plenty of opportunities to lay down your fastest run.Â
GARIGAL CUP Race Rulebook
1. Membership & Insurance
All participants must present proof of current AusCycling and Garigal Gorillas MTB Club membership at registration for insurance purposes.
Riders not registered will not be permitted to race.

2. Race Format
Registration
- Check the event listing for specific registration times and procedures.
- Timing chips must be worn on the right wrist and returned to the registration tent after racing.
- Failure to return the chip may result in disqualification and/or a replacement fee.
Racing
- Riders may complete as many runs as they like.
- Best times for each stage count toward cumulated final results.
- Track access is limited: the race course will be announced and closed to the public before race day—check the event page for details.

- U15 (Combined Men’s & Women’s)
- U17 (Combined Men’s & Women’s)
- E-Bikes (Combined Men’s & Women’s)
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Masters 40+ Men
- Masters 40+ Women

4. Points System
Points are awarded per race as follows:
1st – 100 pts
2nd – 90 pts
3rd – 70 pts
4th – 60 pts
5th – 50 pts
6th – 40 pts
7th – 30 pts
8th – 20 pts
9th – 10 pts
10th – 5 pts
Your best 5 race results will count toward the overall series title.

5. Equipment Requirements
- A certified full-face MTB helmet is mandatory at all times during racing.Knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves are strongly recommended.
5.4 E-Bikes
- Only pedal-assist electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs) allowed.
- Maximum power: 250W, with a top speed of 25 km/h.
- Throttle systems are not permitted.
- Battery swaps are allowed.

6. Rider Eligibility
- Minimum age: 12 years old.
- All participants must sign a waiver before racing.
- If you’re outside the age range, contact the event team—exceptions may be considered.

7. Race Conduct
- Riders must call out when overtaking.
- Slower riders must safely yield to allow passing.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g. aggressive behavior, cutting the course, disrespect) will result in disqualification.

8. Safety & Support
- Qualified medical personnel will be on-site during the event.
- If you or another rider is injured, notify the nearest marshal or official immediately.
9. Awards & Prizes
- Podium awards will be given to the top 3 riders in:
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Additional prizes would be awarded for the overhaul winners of the series IN EACH category.
